Although Barcelona is quite a compact city, in that you can satisfy your needs within a block or two of anywhere, it’s also pretty big and spread out over a large area (about 39 sq/miles). This makes it a city for the wanderer and the inquisitive, providing new sights and surprises around every corner. You will also find that the major attractions are also well spaced out around the city. There is so much to see and take in that sometimes it’s difficult to remember to watch where you’re walking… Thankfully, the locals locals are extremely dutiful about cleaning up after their dogs… but this won’t stop you walking into a tree occasionally 😉
